BSL Starts Eigth Season of Play

(April 28, 2011) The Blossomland Soccer League starts its eighth season of adult premier play on Sunday, May 1. The league features twelve teams in two divisions. Each team will play a home and away schedule within its division. At the end of the season the top four teams in Division One and the top two teams in Division Two will participate in the Blossomland Cup tournament. Approximately 230 players from 15 different countries will participate in the league. 2011 Schedule

Last season Athletic Jaier captured both the regular season and tournament championships with an undefeated 11-0-2 record. P&R FC took the second division title with a 9-0-1 and has been promoted back to the first division for 2011. Whirlpool United has been relegated to the second division after a 2-9-1 last place finish in 2010.

The 2011 Blossomland regular season runs from May 1 – July 8. Most league games will be played on Thursdays and Sundays. The league tournament begins July 17 with three games; the tourney semi-finals will be played on July 24 and the Blossomland Cup championship match will take place on July 31 at the St. Joe Kickers Sport Club in Arden . There is no admission to any Blossomland game.
